The 2010 Manchester Poetry Prize Gala Dinner
"Under the direction of Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, The Manchester Writing School at MMU launched the second Manchester Poetry Prize in early 2010.
The competition was designed to find the best new poems and celebrate them in Manchester – one of Europe's most adventurous and creative spaces – as well as launching new writers.
By the closing date of 6th August, the prize had attracted more than 1,000 entries from over 40 countries.
